Art Work Fundraiser for the ELCA Youth Gathering – Kathy Blake has donated 6 pieces of artwork, which are currently on display in the Commons. Wednesday Suppers – Our last Wednesday Supper/Potluck will be May 2 at 5:15. Pulled pork sandwiches will be served and we are asking for salads or desserts to be brought in.

Vigil of Pentecost Prayer Concert – This is an Ecumenical Prayer Concert bringing together area church musicians to celebrate the Vigil of Pentecost. The concert is a musical journey through Lent, Easter, and Pentecost. This concert will be held on May 19, 2018 at 7:30 PM at the Lutheran Church of the Cross in Nisswa. This is a free concert and a free-will offering will be taken.

Rummage Sale Donations – Lord of Life is having its annual Rummage and Bake Sale on May 11th and 12th, and we would love if you would donate those items to our sale. Please put aside gently used items for the sale and drop them off Sunday, May 6 from 11:30 am – 3 pm and Monday, May 7, and Tuesday, May 8, from 8 am – 8 pm. We do not take TV’s, computers, or adult clothing; kids’ and junior clothing are welcome. Sign-up in the Narthex if you would like to help with this fun event.

Treasure Trove Thursday – Exclusive sale event LIMITED to 50 people. Shop without crowds and get first pick. Thursday, May 10th, 5-7pm ONLY. Cost is $10.00 per person. Children under the age of 12 are free with a paid adult. Tickets will be on sale at the church office starting Monday, May 7th, 8 am-5pm or at the door if any tickets are still left.

Pray & Ponder Will not meet on Saturday, May 5; we will start again in September.

Table and Clothing Racks Needed – We are always in need of hangers, and we are looking for 6-foot or 8-foot tables and clothing racks for our sale. Please put your name on your tables and clothing racks and drop them off by 11:30 am, Sunday, May 6. The tables can be placed in the closet by the Sonshine Room or in the Narthex. We are in need of 40 tables.

Volunteer Opportunity – Do you have a heart for the youth in our community? Please consider joining us at Lakes Area Restorative Justice Project to make a difference in the lives of the at-risk youth in our community by becoming involved in our diversion program. We have an upcoming training held at the office at LARJP in Brainerd on May 5th and 6th for new facilitators.  We would love to have you come join us!  For more information or to RSVP, please contact Andrea at officecoordinator.larjp@gmail.com, or call the office at 218.454.4145.

Pancake Breakfast – We will have a pancake breakfast on Sunday, May 6 starting at 9:45 am. This is a free will donation that will go towards the youth going on the ELCA Youth Gathering.

Spring Clothing Share – Friday & Saturday, May 18 & 19, from 9 am-3 pm. This event is open to the public and all items of clothing are free.

    • Donations of all gently worn adult and children’s clothing will start on Sunday, May 13, from 11:30 am – 2 pm and Monday-Thursday from 9 am – 5 pm. 
    • We are also in need of hangers and hanging clothing racks (you will get back). Volunteers are needed during the week for folding or hanging items and during the Giveaway. Look for volunteer sign ups soon.

Camp Journey – This camp provides support and connections for children ages 7-18 who have experienced the death of a loved one. Camp Journey is held at Confidence Learning Center, and takes place May 18-20. There is no cost for this weekend. There is a limit for the number of campers and it will be on a first come basis. If you are interested there are registration forms in the tract-rack in the Narthex.

Women of the ELCA Gathering – Join the Women of the ELCA for the 31st Annual Convention/Gathering at Sugar Lake Lodge on Monday, June 4-Wednesday, June 6. Registration forms are on the Welcome Center. Registration deadline is May 15.

Church Work Day – Join us on Saturday, June 2 from 8 am to 12 pm, for our Church Work Day. Come help us plant flowers, clean windows and clean up around the church.
