We receive life, we are gathered into community, and then we are sent into the world to see and love our neighbors as Christ does. We are not compassionate in order to become God’s people; we are compassionate because, in Christ, we already are God’s beloved people. God’s mercy toward us becomes the wellspring of our mercy toward others. God’s compassionate action begins with God’s loving gaze – seeing us for who we are and loving us —and as disciples, we pray to learn to see the world through Christ’s eyes. A question for this week, “Who is God inviting me to truly see today?”
May you discover the richness of our life together in Christ as you spend time in God’s Word and with God’s people this week through their stories, their faith, their struggles and their joys and may you sense God’s loving face smiling upon you and may you seek to see others with the eyes of Christ.
