Life Together Devotion – 10/3/2026

-reading Psalm 133

Psalm 133:1 says, “How very good and pleasant it is when kindred live together in unity!”

For over 25 years, being a member of Lord of Life has been a profound blessing. I witness unity within our walls every day. When I think of true unity, I envision Vickie Borgstrom, who has consistently woven that thread of ‘unity’ through the thousands of meals she has prepared. Her care extends not just to our members, but to everyone who enters our doors. Vickie never asks about beliefs; she simply serves, offering meals to all without judgment. Her mission is to answer God’s call.

In verses 2-3, when it speaks of oil running over Aaron’s head and the dew on Mount Zion, God speaks of a blessing. We see this blessing manifest in our church as children pour sweet blessings on their pancakes, members pour dressing over salads, and Vickie and her team pour gravy over warm meals. These actions are signs of God’s presence. How very good and pleasant it is when kindred live in unity!

Now close your eyes and reflect on how we can live in unity. How can we be instruments of harmony and connection in our world? Let us focus on our commonalities rather than our differences. Listen, show respect, practice kindness, build harmony, make peace, and love one another. Envision Vickie pouring out blessings and serving all. Remember the smiling child, beaming with joy as they share sweet blessings.

Let us not forget our origins; we are all creations of God, born of His love and destined to be blessings to the earth and His people. Pour out your prayers to God, for He listens. May we listen and share blessings like Vickie, living in harmony and unity.

Prayer: Lord, draw us closely to you and to each other in love and service. Teach and empower each of us to live our lives as a blessing. Amen.
