Worship Assistant Trainings: The new Worship Assistant schedule will begin in February. There will be a training in the sanctuary immediately after the 9 am service and 10:30 am service on Jan 27. You will be introduced to your team that you will serve with.
An Evening with Author Kai Mark Nilsen – Come and meet the author of Renew Your Life on Sunday evening, January 27 at 6:30 pm! Kai will be with us for an evening of connecting, learning and growing. We’ll have a chance to hear directly from him about the book, his own renewal and his hopes for both individuals and the church.

Paula and Dennis visited Lord of Life on December 12 and their passion once again stirred the hearts of Lord of Life members. Now it’s time to seriously consider joining them in Tanzania to work, to serve, to pray, to play! If you are curious about a mission trip to Tanzania come and learn more about International Health Partners and what would be involved in a mission trip on Sunday, January 27th after the 9:00 am service and 10:30 am service.
Caring for the Caregiver – Lord of Life Lutheran Church will be presenting Henri Nouwen’s Courage for Caregivers, an eight hour retreat that will address the critical importance of self-care from a faith perspective. Join us Saturday, February 9 from 8:30 am to 4 pm. Cost is $15 for lunch and materials. Please register by January 23, payment is due the day of the retreat. Red Cross Blood Drive – Lord of Life will have a blood drive Friday, February 22 from 12 pm-5 pm. Walk-ins are welcome or you can make an appointment at redcrossblood.org.
The Giving Tree – Our giving tree is up and ready for your handmade scarves, hats and mittens. If you are not a knitter and would like to donate store bought scarves, hats and mittens, we will gladly take them. If you are a Teacher or if you know of someone that could use hats, mittens and scarves this winter, please take the item(s) off our Giving Tree and take the items to them or let them know about our Giving Tree at LOL.
Men In Mission Retreat – Saturday, Feb 23, 8 am to 4:30 pm at First Lutheran Church in Brainerd. Keynote speaker on Saturday is Rev. Dr. Mark Tranvik, Professor of Religion at Augsburg University. A continental breakfast and lunch will be provided. Registration information is at the Welcome Center or by emailing nelutheranmen@gmail.com. Cost is $40 for registration and meal and $30 for first time attendees and students.
Little known LOL Fact: We have 80 people signed up to bring people a meal in times of need.
Looking Ahead To Lent: Our theme during the season of lent is “Lasting Hope.” On Wednesday nights we’ll be exploring the Psalms in our meditations. Augsburg Fortress has created a beautiful, full-color Lenten devotional to accompany us. It’s available in pocket and large-print versions. We’ll be reserving copies for people beginning in February.
