This Week’s Announcements

March FoodShare – Thank you to all who donated to the MN March FoodShare campaign. We received $892.95 in cash and 240 Pounds of food were donated to the Brainerd Salvation Army.

Wednesday Soup Lunch and Study – Join us on Wednesday April 17 at 12 pm for a soup and bread lunch and a time of Worship.

Holy Week – Maundy Thursday: April 18; 12 pm & 7 pm; Good Friday: April 19; 12 pm & 7 pm. No Wednesday Service or supper this week.

Easter Vigil – Lord of Life’s Easter Vigil will be on Good Friday from 8 pm to midnight. There is no sign-up sheet this year, instead the sanctuary will remain open until midnight to allow for further reflection meditation, prayer and reading. Please come and go as you wish, in silence. A resource sheet with suggestions for prayers, prayer topics and readings will be provided.

Easter Breakfast – Join us for Easter Breakfast after the 7 am Worship Service on Easter Sunday, April 21. Easter Services are: 7 am, 9 am and 10:30 am.

Join the Older Folders Holy Week and Easter – in folding bulletins on Thursday, April 18 at 11 am and on Friday, April 19 at 10 am.

Come to the Vision Brunch – Join us on April 28 after the 9 am and 10:30 am services for brunch and a very important conversation with our church leaders about Lord of Life’s vision for the future. We will also be holding this event on Wednesday, April 24 after the 6 pm worship service with dessert.

Volunteers Needed – We need volunteers to help cook in the kitchen on Wednesday nights for supper and also to help with Easter Brunch and the Brunch on April 28. If you can help us out please email the church office at 

Rummage Sale Volunteers Needed – Volunteers needed to help with the Youth Rummage Sale and Bake Sale. Sign-up in the Narthex for the days that work for you.

WELCA Women’s Heartland Conference Has Been Rescheduled – For Wednesday, April 24 at Bethesda Lutheran in Malmo from 8 am to 12 pm. Cost is $8.  

Children’s Artwork – Parents did your kids make a drawing during church? If so, you can leave the drawings in the “In Box” in the church office, we would love to show them off in our Announcement Slides.

New staff position to be added at Lord of Life! We’re hiring a part time Children’s Ministry Coordinator for 50 hours a month. We are looking for someone with a strong faith, commitment to the work of the church, and a love of children. Teens Upstream Shindig – You don’t want to miss this! 9th-12th graders join us at Lord of Life on Friday, April 26th from 3:30 pm to midnight. We have a fun evening planned will great food, friends and games! We will have activities indoors and outdoors, order some pizza and end with a late-night Perkins run. Gifts Encouraged for the Seminarian Scholarship Fund – We have a generous member who has agreed to match all donations given to the Seminarian Scholarship Fund up to $1,000 for the next two years (started in January 2019). Donations will be used to support those from this congregation who go on to attend seminary with the intention of serving as a rostered minister in the church.

Stephen Ministry Update – This coming week the Stephen Ministry training class at Lord of Life will be considering the subject of Confidentiality. In this presentation they will be learning the principles of confidentiality so that anyone who is ministered to, by a Stephen Minister, can be confident that any communication will be kept secret and private. As the Stephen Ministry training continues, we get closer to the commissioning of these folks for their ministry among us. Please continue to keep them in your prayers.

serveCAMP – July 22-25—9 am to 3 pm, with an optional 7 pm – 10 pm and/or overnight. serveCAMP, a Middle School Mission “trip”, is for students who will be entering grades 5-8 in the upcoming school year. Kid’s will be building trust, helping others, growing in faith and having fun. There will be activities during the day, a break in the afternoon, and an option to return in the evening for night games, campfire and camping in Lord of Life’s backyard.
