Children’s Ministry is looking for Kids’ Time teachers – Come to our Volunteer Meeting/Orientation on Sunday, August 18 at 5:30pm, for those wanting to get plugged into Children’s Ministry. Outdoor Worship Service – Join us Wednesday, August 21, at 6 pm for our Campfire Worship Service. Bring a dish to pass for our potluck supper; hotdogs are provided.
Grief Support Group – will meet on Monday, August 19, at Lord of Life in the Fireside Room from 6:30 pm – 8:00 pm.
Kindergarten Backpack Blessing – Kindergartners bring your backpacks for the Backpack Blessing on Sunday August 25 at 9 am or Wednesday, August 28 at 6 pm.
Block Party at Lord of Life – Join us Sunday, September 8, from 4 pm to
6 pm for our Rally Day Block Party and help us kick off the start of our educational year. Join us for food, a pie tasting contest, games and crafts. This is a free church/community event.
Rally Day Wednesday and Sunday – Mark your calendars for Sunday, September 8 and Wednesday, September 11. Rally Day starts our fall schedule off with two services on Sundays at 9 am and 10:30 am and Wednesdays at 6 pm. Stop by all the tables for information on getting involved in our church. We will be set up after the Wednesday evening service at 7 pm and from 9:45 am-10:30 am and 11:15 am – 12:30 am on Sunday.
Wednesday Night Cooks – Get a group together or your family to help cook a meal once a month. You will be responsible for shopping, food prep and cooking the meal. Confirmation kids will help with serving and cleaning up. Mark your Connections Cards if you would like more information about this.
Caregivers Support Group – Where you can talk with other caregivers experiencing the same joys and challenges you may be facing. Please mark your Connection Cards if you are interested in attending. Dates and times coming soon.
Fall Clothing Share – We are in need of volunteers to help with the Clothing Giveaway September 27 & 28 and set up September 23-26. If you are interested in helping please mark your Connection Cards.
It’s time to stop worrying about money! The nine-lesson Financial Peace University (FPU) course is the proven plan to help you keep a budget, beat debt, and build wealth! LOL Quilters – will start on Thursday, September 5, from 9 am to 12 pm.
Quilts are made for our graduating seniors, local charities and special requests. Thursdays are used for quilt designing, packaging into kits for LOL volunteers to sew into quilt tops, and also for tying and binding. Sewing experience is not required! Any cotton fabric donations are appreciated and all are welcome to participate.
The Ultimate Date Night – Saturday, September 28 from 7 pm to 9:30 pm at Lord of Life. Jay and Laura Laffoon, marriage ‘educatainers’ and hosts of the comedy-infused Ultimate Date Night event, where they help couples learn how to create and regularly celebrate a thriving marriage while exploring the realities that everyday life brings to the relationship. Tickets are $10 per person and can be purchased at www.eventbrite.com. This event is sponsored by Thrivent Financial.
Social Concerns Team – helps decide where “Beyond our Doors funds” should go in our Community or beyond. Provide opportunities for this Church and members to take part in mission work through prayer, financial and material support; and keep the congregation informed of local, national and worldwide mission operation. It’s polite to say thank you when you receive a gift – God has given us the greatest gift of all – eternal life and unconditional love in Jesus Christ. How can you say thanks? One way is to share the love you have received with others who may feel unloved and alone in their troubles. We will begin a new training course for Stephen Ministers soon.
