Thank you – to everyone that helped with the Fall Clothing Giveaway. It was a great success and we couldn’t do it without all of your help! We had over 200 people come and shop our Giveaway!
Wednesday Suppers – Join us on Wednesdays at 5:15 for supper. October 2 will be a potluck; please bring a dish to pass. Regular suppers will be on October 9, 23, 30. There will be no supper on October 16th for MEA.
New Pathways – “We’re looking for members who would be willing to join the ‘Friends of New Pathways’ group at Lord of Life. This is a critical time for them. There will be a meeting on October 3rd that we are hoping to recruit a Lord of Life member to attend where they will present the findings of a community assessment and discuss the board’s recommendations for the future of the New Pathways program in the Lakes area. New pathways is a partnership between host churches and a Lakes Area Day Center that would serve homeless families with shelter and other services to help them effectively address their needs.”
Pancake Breakfast – Join us for a Pancake Breakfast on Sunday, October 6, at 9:45 am. This a free will donation and fundraiser for the youth going on the mission trip this summer.
Heartland Conference Fall Gathering – will be held at Trinity Lutheran Church of Milaca, on Thursday, October 10 with registration starting at 8:30 am. Cost is $8, general offering will go to the Synod and Camp Onomia. Please make checks payable to Women of the ELCA. Trinity Lutheran’s address is 735 Second Street, Milaca.
Pray & Ponder – will meet on Saturday, October 5th at 9 am. Join us for breakfast, fellowship, questions, and laughter as we walk this journey of faith together. If you have never attended a Bible study, women’s group, or faith discussion of any kind before–no problem. This is a great place to ask questions or simply listen. Luther Crest Annual Gathering and Meeting – will be on October 12, to celebrate 2019 and look forward to 2020 and Luther Crest’s 75th Anniversary! Come share and hear stories of God’s work this past year and to celebrate their future. Come for pastries, cookies and great eats and treats at 9:00 am in the Chapel and stay for the celebration meeting at 9:30 am.
New Member Orientation 101 – If you are looking for a church home, Lord of Life offers a New Member Orientation 101 class. These classes are for those interested in membership at Lord of Life and those seeking more information on Lord of Life’s mission and ministries. This is a one-night event, and attendance is required by all who wish to become members of Lord of Life Lutheran Church. 2nd Annual Trunk-or-Treat – Come dressed in costume on Wednesday, October 30th between 4-7pm and trick-or-treat from car to car in the Lord of Life parking lot. Each vehicle will be decorated in a family-friendly theme and passing out candy or goodies. This is an exciting spin-off of trick-or-treating which allows kids to not have to cross busy streets. We will have s’mores and a bounce house. Interested in decorating the trunk of your vehicle and distributing candy for the event? They Are Among Us – No, we’re not talking about angels or aliens. We’re talking about individuals who care for others. The Scriptures describe their service well: “Remember those in prison as if you were their fellow prisoners, and those who are mistreated as if you yourselves were suffering” (Hebrews 13:3). If you or someone you know wants to do more as a Christian caregiver, consider Stephen Ministry. This is Lord of Life’s one-to-one caregiving ministry. A training class is starting soon.
