This Week’s Announcements

Used Gnome’ore Holiday Sale a Success! Thank you to everyone who took part in our first ever holiday & bake sale. It took many people, from those who helped coordinate, to everyone who brought in items, to those that took part in the sale! Together we raised over $2,000 for our high school summer mission trip to Jamaica!

Wednesday Suppers – Join us on Wednesdays at 5:15 for supper.

December 4 will be a potluck; please bring a dish to pass. On December 11 the Tanzania Mission Trip will be holding a Swedish meatball supper starting at 5:15, free-will donation. There will be a regular supper on December 18.

Christmas Caroling – Mark your calendars and join us for Christmas caroling after the 10:30 am worship service on December 8. We will meet at 11:30 am in the Narthex.

Prayer Chain In-service – Our next in-service will be Wednesday, December 4 at 7:00 pm or Sunday, December 8 at 10:30 am. We require a commitment of each member to attend at least one prayer chain in-service during a 12-month period. It is the individual’s responsibility to be sure they attend an in-service. Would you like to join the prayer chain? Pick one of the in-services to attend.

Pray & Ponder Women’s Bible Study and Breakfast – will meet on Saturday, December 7th at 9:00 am, all Lord of Life women are invited. This is a great way to kick off the Advent Season as we gather for food, fellowship, and conversation. All are welcome, invite a friend. Please consider bringing a gift card for the women’s shelter from: Target, Wal-Mart, grocery stores or gas cards.

“Angels, Lambs, Ladybugs and Fireflies” – The Christmas Program will be performed at the 9 am and 10:30 am services on Sunday, December 15th. Children of our church have been working hard, behind the scenes, practicing music and rehearsing lines. We hope you can join us for this Christ-centered musical. Those who are participating in this program, be sure to swing by the Welcome Desk for assigned roles, costuming info, and scripts. This can also be accessed on CCB in the group “2019 Christmas Program”.

Children’s Education Team – Are you looking for a way to get plugged into Children’s Ministry? Look no further and join the Children’s Education Team. We meet the first Tuesday of each month with the next scheduled one on December 3rd. Together we brainstorm ideas, plan and execute programming, and grow our Children’s Ministry. We would love to see new faces and generate new ideas!

Christmas Quilt – The quilters made a beautiful Christmas quilt that is displayed in the Narthex. Bid on the quilt until December 15. The money raised for the quilt will go to Luther Crest. The winner of the quilt will be notified on Monday, December 16.

Gift Cards – Please consider donating grocery and gas gift cards from area businesses. These gift cards are used for local families in need during the holiday season and throughout the year. Any denomination helps. Place gift cards in the box by the Angel Tree.

Angel Tree: Some little angels in our community need some extra help this year to make their holiday bright. Select a tag from the Angel tree and purchase any gift listed but also please include at least one clothing item. All unwrapped gifts need to be dropped off at the Salvation Army at 208 South 5th Street by Wednesday, December 11th. Please have the unwrapped gifts include the Angel Tag and make sure the information on the tag is also on the gifts.

A Service for Grief and Hope Monday, December 18 at 6:00 pm – While Advent is a season of hope and Christmas is a season of joy, we don’t all feel hopeful or like celebrating. So, let’s gather together to provide a time and place of solace during this frenetic time surrounding the celebration of Christmas. Let’s come together to seek healing and make room to share grief, sadness, loneliness, or confusion. Let’s come with our honest yearnings seeking the return of light and hope.

Christmas Eve Services – Tuesday, December 24th: 3 pm, 5 pm & 9 pm
