Eagle Scout Ceremony – You are invited to Eric & Charlie Rude’s Eagle Scout Ceremony on Friday, August 10, at 7 pm in the Commons. 

VBS/Worship Service – Join us Wednesday, August 15, for our Evening VBS wrap-up/Worship Service at 6 pm.

New Member Orientation 101 – If you are looking for a church home, Lord of Life offers a New Member Orientation 101 class. These classes are for those interested in membership at Lord of Life and those seeking more information on Lord of Life’s mission and ministries. Member Orientation 101 class is a one-night event, and attendance is required by all who wish to become members of Lord of Life Lutheran Church. Our next session will be held in Pastor Steve’s office on Tuesday, August 21, from 6:30 pm – 8:00 pm. Register at:

Campfire Worship/Potluck – We will have a outdoor worship service on Wednesday, August 22, at 6 pm. Bring a dish to pass for our potluck supper; hotdogs are provided. Note the date change.

Kindergarten Backpack Blessing – will be Sunday, August 26 at 9 am.

Rally Day and Little Lamb Blessing – will be Wednesday, September 12, at 6 pm and Sunday, September 16, at 9 am and 10:30 am

Would you like to help out with Kids’ Time during worship this fall? We are looking for teachers and helpers.  If you would like to volunteer mark your Connection Card.

Youth News – A lot that has happened over these summer months. Although it’s almost August, don’t give up on summer yet! Make sure to pick up or read the September newsletter next month, which will have all your fall programming information and a recap of the mission trip to  Sisseton, SD!

Northeastern Lights Newsletter – The August issue of the NE MN Synod Women of the ELCA Northeastern Lights newsletter is now available in the tract rack in the Narthex.

The Lakes Area Music Festival – has many concert opportunities coming up for the month of August. You can see a full list by visiting their website at For these events no tickets are required and donations will be accepted in lieu of ticket fees.

  • The Lakes Area Music Festival’s annual family concert will take place at Tornstrom Auditorium on Sunday, August 5 at 2pm.  LAMF’s all-star roster will present beloved works for kids of all ages, including Carnival of the Animals and Peter and the Wolf.
  • On Wednesday, August 8 at 7pm at Tornstrom Auditorium the organization will presents Café Music. Professional musicians from around the world will perform chamber music by Poulenc, Schoenfeld, and Haydn.
  • On Saturday, August 11 at 7pm and Sunday, August 12 at 2pm at Tornstrom Auditorium, the Lakes Area Music Festival will present its third annual ballet: Appalachian Spring in collaboration with the St. Paul Ballet. The program also features John Taylor Ward singing Copland’s Old American Songs and Suliman Takeli performing Barber’s Violin Concerto. Visit for more information.
