Club 56 Launches January 22nd – This class is open to current 5th & 6th graders. We will begin our third session looking at discipleship practices. This class meets Wednesday nights 7 pm-8 pm! If you haven’t been to class before come check this 4-week session out!
Parent’s Night Out – will be Saturday, January 25, from 4:30 pm – 8:30 pm. Drop your kids off at church for an evening of games, crafts, dinner and a movie while you enjoy a date night! BLAST Event – We will be having another BLAST Event on Sunday, January 26, in between services. Families attending will assemble blessing bags for the homeless and those in need. Items still needed: deodorant, chapstick, socks, hats, gloves, mittens, small flashlights, small toys and snack sized foods. Travel sized: toothpaste, shampoo, conditioner, lotion, hand sanitizer and Kleenex. Items can be dropped off in the SonShine Room by January 24th.
Fundraising Event for Tanzania – Join us Monday, February 3, for dinner at the Pizza Ranch from 5 pm to 8 pm. The Tanzania Mission Trip will receive 10% of the evening sales and tips. We appreciate your support of our trip and all proceeds will go towards supplies needed for Tanzania.
Kid’s Time Leaders and Assistants – We are looking for Kid’s Time Lead Teachers and Assistants for our Sunday 9 am and Wednesday 6 pm services. All lessons and activities are planned and prepped for you. An easy and exciting way to invest in the children of our church. Volunteers Needed! We are looking for volunteers to help with cleaning up the pews after our Sunday and Wednesday services. This would include picking up bulletins left behind, straightening Bibles, making sure hand sanitizers are filled and checking the busy bags. Time and days of volunteering are flexible. NE Minnesota Synod Men’s Retreat – February 21 and 22 at Bethlehem Lutheran Church, Brainerd. Featured speakers will be Rev. Dr. Mark Skinner and Rev. Dr. Andy Root. More information and registration forms can be found at the Welcome Center in the Narthex. $40 for both days, $30 for first time attendees and $20 if just attending Saturday.
New Member Orientation 101 – If you are looking for a church home, Lord of Life offers a New Member Orientation 101 class. These classes are for those interested in membership at Lord of Life and those seeking more information on Lord of Life’s mission and ministries. This is a one-night event, and attendance is required by all who wish to become members of Lord of Life Lutheran Church. Spring LIFEgroups – In the spring we will start our LIFEgroups. If you would like to be a part of a group and read and discuss a book, mark your Connection Cards. We will have more information soon on what we will be reading and discussing.
Eyes and Ears of Jesus – We are the eyes and ears of Jesus on earth today. It is our duty to be watching and listening to people around us, recognizing when they have needs for care. If you find someone with a need, listen and care. If you find the need is something greater than you can meet, tell the person about Stephen Ministry at Lord of Life and put him or her in touch with Pastor Erika, our Referrals Coordinator. Jesus is depending on us to be His eyes and ears on earth.
Supplies Needed for Tanzania Mission Trip – The Tanzania group is asking for your help in collecting painting, medical and children supplies. Items can be placed in the truck located in the Narthex. Items needed:
Paint supplies: brushes, rollers, painter’s tape, roller pans, etc.
Medical supplies: rolls of gauze, ace bandages, alcohol packets/swabs, cotton balls, band aids, shower curtains, sheets (any size)
Children supplies: beanie babies, small stuffed animals, match box cars, baby hats, receiving blankets, cloth diapers, quilts, newborn/small baby outfits/sleepers, reading glasses, children’s vitamins (especially with iron; not gummy vitamins)
Adult supplies: reading glasses, prenatal vitamins (must not be expired or expiring in less than 6 months of June 2020).
