We hope you’re staying warm and enjoying a pleasant winter.
First, we want to extend our heartfelt thanks to all the wonderful volunteers who have stepped up to share their gifts and talents. Your dedication is invaluable.
As we enter the new year, we’re placing a strong focus on the Capital Campaign and our pastoral transition. The steering committee has met with GSB, our consultants, several times, and we’re excited to announce that we are in a strong position to move forward with the campaign. Our mission, “Forward Together,” will guide us as we shape the future of Lord of Life. With a goal to pay off our mortgage along with some church improvements, we aim to redirect the payments we make for our mortgage towards other ministries that would better benefit Lord of Life. Thank you to everyone who has assisted the Capital Campaign so far. While there is still work ahead, we’re off to a great start. More information will be coming in the near future.
We are also moving “Forward Together” as we navigate the path of adding staff. Working alongside Pastor Erika, we are committed to being thoughtful and deliberate during this process. Thanks to the many volunteers who have stepped up and the positive feedback we’ve received about the current state of Lord of Life, Pastor Erika along with the rest of the council feel confident about taking the time needed to gather comprehensive feedback and ensure we have a clear path forward. We are currently exploring ways to engage our membership to collect thoughts and ideas about the future of Lord of Life and what matters most to our members.
Other Items to Note:
- Pancake Breakfast: Join us after worship on Sunday, January 26th to support our youth programs.
- Teen Challenge: They will be speaking and singing at our Sunday, February 2nd service.
- Property Listing: We have extended our listing with Close~Converse to continue marketing the property. Although some developers have expressed interest recently, no offers have been made to date.
- Youth Ministry Updates: Pastor Erika, Guy Kelm, and Tim Slinger recently met with 3rd and 4th graders and their parents to gather ideas for youth ministry activities. Stay tuned for more updates as plans develop. If you have a 3rd or 4th grader interested in getting involved, we’d love to hear from you. Pizza gatherings were a clear favorite among the kids!
Thank you all for your ongoing support. Lord of Life is in a positive place. While there’s much work ahead, it’s an exciting opportunity to shape our future and make a meaningful impact.
Warm regards,
Andy Isackson
