Greetings, Lord of Life,

First and foremost, thank you to everyone who attended our Community Conversation in February. We had meaningful discussions, and at our February Council Meeting, we received an update on the meeting and shared ideas and insights from the conversation.

This is certainly a busy and exciting time for Lord of Life as we prepare to launch our capital campaign. Our primary goal with this campaign is to pay off the mortgage. Why is this so important? Eliminating the mortgage will free up approximately $6,000 per month in debt payments. With these additional funds remaining within the church, we can develop new ministries and opportunities that have long been envisioned. It will also provide support for our yearly budget and future resources.

In conjunction with the capital campaign, we are forming a Discovery Team to gather feedback and insights on the future of Lord of Life. The team will provide valuable input to the council as we chart the best path forward. We recognize the importance of adding new staff to the church, and with guidance from our dedicated staff, volunteers, our Bishop, and capital campaign consultants, we have a unique opportunity to carefully plan for the future in a way that best serves Lord of Life.

There is a lot of wonderful activity happening at Lord of Life! If you are looking for ways to get involved, we have plenty of volunteer opportunities available. If you are interested in joining the Discovery Team, please reach out to Tyler Jensen, Pastor Erika, or me.

Additionally, we are seeking volunteers for the Nominating Committee. If you have served in the past or are interested in joining, please let us know. The Nominating Committee will be looking for new council members to help guide Lord of Life into the future. Our Annual Meeting will be held in June of 2025 where we will be presenting our new council members and a budget to be voted on for members for the upcoming year.

News and Notes

  • A huge thank you to the Property Team and Matt Delaney from the council for their efforts in installing new, energy-efficient lighting in the church—it is greatly appreciated!
  • Barrett Property Update: The property remains listed. While we received some inquiries last fall, we have not yet received any offers. We will keep everyone updated as spring approaches.
  • The 34 Club: Thank you to Council Member Guy Kelm, Lord of Life staff, and all the volunteers who have helped launch the 34 Club! This initiative provides 3rd and 4th graders with a monthly opportunity to gather at the church for fellowship and fun.
  • Staff Support: A special thank you to our wonderful staff at Lord of Life. Council Member Jane Peterson has been working closely with staff to ensure they have the resources they need and to provide assistance wherever necessary.
  • Bulletin Board Updates: Be sure to check out our bulletin boards! The Micah Group has been actively updating their ministry board, and we are working to refresh other bulletin boards more frequently with news and updates about Lord of Life.
  • Thank you to the Balsley family for helping with cleaning and organizing rooms at the church. We appreciate you!

We understand there are many great ideas and opportunities ahead. As we move forward together, we not only focus on what needs to be accomplished in the coming months but also work to set our congregation up for a bright future filled with meaningful ministries and community growth.

Blessings,

Andy Isackson and the LOL Council
