Christ. Grace. Family.

Welcome to Lord of Life Lutheran Church in Baxter. As you can see, ours is a congregation that enjoys both working and playing together while celebrating our love of the Lord. All are welcome at Lord of Life. Aside from the time we spend worshiping together during service we also offer a variety of other opportunities for both youth and adults.

“It’s Good to be Family.”

Our Church

Lord of Life began as a small charter congregation worshiping in the cafeteria of the local elementary school. One hundred and twenty-five people were in attendance at the first service April 22, 1990.  Later that fall the congregation outgrew the cafeteria, moved their services to the gymnasium, and began a Sunday school program.

Our Family

Today the congregation at Lord of Life is 1300 members strong and worship, during three weekly services, is held in a new 400 seat sanctuary, completed in 2008. We offer activities for children, youth, adults and families. We invite you to join us, and become part of our church family!

Liberation Theology Workshop
July 26, 2017

On August 8: - Liberation Theology Workshop: This workshop will be led by Pastor-President Rolando Martinez of the Iglesia Cristiana Luterana en Honduras (Lutheran Christian Church in Honduras, our companion synod) on the important tenets of liberation theology and how it shapes the life and ministry of the Lutheran church in Honduras and the life of faith in a Central American context, and also how it relates and speaks to our context here in the United States. The workshop is free of charge, open to both clergy and laypeople, and includes a light lunch. The workshop will be held from 10:00 am to noon at The Lutheran Church of the Good Shepherd in Duluth. RSVP to Rev. Dave Mesner at dmesner@lcgsduluth.org if possible.

This is a wonderful opportunity to learn more about this important theology that has shaped the life of faith of so many of our Latin American brothers and sisters and has influenced people of faith worldwide with its emphasis on social justice and empowerment of those who are marginalized by class divisions, poverty, racism and discrimination.
