Wednesday Night Club 56

An exciting new program has launched for 5th and 6th graders! The hope behind this program is to spend time building relationships with family, our peers and family of faith, thus enriching faith formation for everyone involved.  This year we will focus in on the following four themes, Bible, Health/Wellness, Discipleship Practices and Holy Sacrament. Each theme will be four weeks in length.

The first session begins September 18th, 2019 from 7pm-8pm

First Communion Class (Normally in 5th Grade)

Every spring we hold a class to introduce the origins and meaning of Holy Communion. The class is four sessions long and concludes with a session on the baking of communion bread and a discussion of how communion takes place both at Lord of Life and at other congregations around the world.

Confirmation

Our Confirmation Program helps fulfil our Mission Statement by connecting youth to Christ, our community and each other through a number of events.

In the Junior High (7th & 8th graders) Confirmation program, students and their small group mentors meet on Wednesday evenings to study scripture and Luther’s Small Catechism and explore ways to connect with Christ through prayer. Students will also assist throughout the year in worship, with our Wednesday supper program and other service opportunities.

The final step in the Confirmation program begins with 9th grade and culminates with the Confirmation ceremony on Reformation Sunday (October) of the 10th grade year.  It has a variety of components including worship attendance and assisting, a faith mentor, Wednesday gatherings and retreats.

Contact the church office for more information.
