Like and Share to send masks to Jamaica

An anonymous donor is challenging members of the Lord of Life Congregation and others to help spread its online presence, while also helping out those in need. For every like or share on Lord of Life’s Facebook and Youtube Worship livestream posts, a Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) mask will be donated to Westhaven Children’s Home in Copse, Jamaica and Clifton Boys Home in Darlingston, Jamaica. Westhaven provides care for children with special needs ranging from moderate to severe cases, while the Clifton Boys Home educates, provides Christian values and prepares boys age 8-18 for adulthood. Online Resources Class to start at Lord of Life

Lord of Life Lutheran Church of Baxter is starting a class aimed at helping people understand what options they have to engage with the Church online. Sessions will be hosted on Zoom on Sundays at 1 p.m. The class will cover how to use Lord of Life’s online platforms. These include our Youtube channel, Facebook page, website, LOL Connect and mobile app. By the end of this class, we hope attendees will feel comfortable with these platforms and will be able to use them to make their experience with Lord of Life better. Bishop Amy Odgren to visit Lord of Life

The recently installed Bishop Amy Odgren of the Evangelical Lutheran Church of America’s (ELCA) Northeastern Minnesota Synod will be a guest preacher at Lord of Life Lutheran Church of Baxter on Sunday, April 18th at 9 a.m. Odgren, of Walker, Minn., was elected to the office for a six-year term in August 2020. Prior to this, she served as assistant to the bishop and was director for evangelical mission in the Synod. She has been preaching since 2001, when she earned a Master of Divinity Degree from Wartburg Theological Seminary in Dubuque, Iowa. During Sunday’s service, Bishop Odgren will give a sermon continuing the focus Lord of Life has had following Easter on the First Epistle of John, which comes from the early years of Christianity.
