This Week’s Announcements

Pastor Erika Nilsen 25th Ordination Reception – Join us in celebrating Pastor Erika’s 25th Anniversary on Zoom Sunday, July 19 at 10:30 am. Pastor Erika was ordained on July 16, 1995. Links to the reception will be found in our new members-only Facebook group or in the Good News Weekly email.

We are understaffed at this time: This may result in temporary interruptions of things that you have come to expect from us. Worship slides, prayerLIFE@12:45 videos are two examples. As time goes on, there may be more. We regret when those interruptions occur and together we look forward to the day when the staff will be able to consistently provide them again. In the meanwhile, we thank you for your patience and understanding.

Help us water the flowers at LOL – We could use some more volunteers to help water the flowers and pull weeds in the flower beds. Visit to sign up for a spot on the Summer Watering Crew.

Are you receiving the Good News Weekly? Every week on Friday afternoons, Lord of Life sends an email with information about the upcoming week’s worship services, education schedule, and other church events. Sign up via email to

Need Prayer? – Please call the church office at 218-828-9374 or send an email to if you or a loved one is hospitalized or needs to be added to the Family Weekly Prayers or when changes need to be made to the prayers that you added.

VBS – family style! Get ready for Compassion Camp – an opportunity to explore the truth that you are loved, called to be kind, and created to be wonderfully YOU. You’ll be given everything you need to dig into this wonderful theme – along with some videos by Goldie, great ideas to serve your neighbors, and creating a large art project. Over the course of two weeks – beginning on Sunday, July 19th, you’ll have four wonderful lessons on compassion! A truly fitting theme for right now! You can do the lessons four days in a row – or spread them out. Visit to sign up!

Stories for Change: Monday, July 6, launches a new ministry at LOL called Stories for Change. Each Monday morning a children’s story is read out loud and will be posted on our Facebook page along with a discussion video led by Guy Kelm. The children’s book will focus on issues of discrimination and race. We will learn more about our history and be invited to have courageous conversations about how we, as people of faith, can both live in and help create a better and more just world.

August serveCAMP Update: Mark your calendars for the week of August 3rd! serveCAMP is available for students entering 5th-8th grade. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, we are still working on what impact this might have on our camp week. More details will be coming throughout this month via email, social media, and through the mail.
