LOLLY (Lots of Living Left Yet) – will meet on Wednesday, September 18, at 11:30 am for a potluck lunch in Fellowship Hall. The program will be presented by Deb Bergstrom. Deb, our Parish Nurse, will present an interactive Bible study that will focus on aging and wellbeing. We will explore what the Bible says to us about aging, health and the church’s role, including and caring for our older members. Fall Clothing Share – Friday, September 27 from 9 am to 3 pm & Saturday, September 28 from 9 am to 12 pm. This event is open to the public and all items of clothing are free. Volunteers are needed during the week for folding or hanging items and during the giveaway. Sign up in the Narthex if you can volunteer. Drop off your clothing donations Monday, September 23 – Wednesday, September, 25 from 1 pm – 3 pm.
Tanzania Mission Trip – is holding a fundraiser at the Pizza Ranch in Baxter on Monday, September 23rd from 5 pm – 8 pm. Come and enjoy dinner and support the Tanzania Mission Trip. Ten percent of the sales and all tips will go towards supplies needed in Tanzania. On Sunday, September 29, Denny and Paula Lofstrom will be visiting LOL and discussing their mission in Tanzania. The Tanzania Group will be hosting a free-will offering breakfast in-between the 9 am & 10:30 am worship services.
2019-20 Kid’s Time– Kid’s Time will be offered at our Sunday 9 am and Wednesday 6 pm services for kids ages 3 yrs-4th grade. Each month Bible stories will be shared with children through lessons, activities, Kids’ Church Puppet Ministry, and Kids’ Worship. Winter Is Around The Corner – Help congregational life in making scarves, hats and mittens for the giving tree. The mitten tree will be located at Lord of Life and we will also have a tree at the police station. Bring completed mittens, scarves and hats to the church office.
Fuel Up for Forestview and CLC Food Pantry – We are helping to stock the pantry at Forestview and CLC with items to help provide food and hygiene items for middle school students and college students experiencing financial hardships at home.We’ll be collecting items through September 30. Items Needed: granola bars, fruit snacks, macaroni and cheese, skillet dinners, hamburger helpers, individual boxes of cereal, oatmeal, small bag of chips, individual fruit cups, peanut butter, jelly, microwaveable popcorn, toiletries pancake mix and syrup.
The Ultimate Date Night – Saturday, September 28 from 7 pm to 9:30 pm at Lord of Life. Jay and Laura Laffoon, marriage ‘educatainers’ and hosts of the comedy-infused Ultimate Date Night event, where they help couples learn how to create and regularly celebrate a thriving marriage while exploring the realities that everyday life brings to the relationship. Palestinian Perspectives: A Film Festival – Join us on Sunday, September 29, at 6:00 pm at Lord of Life, to view and then discuss Salt of the Earth: Palestinian Christians in the West Bank. This film was produced by Presbyterian missionaries who spent 3 ½ years living and working in Palestine in conjunction with many Christian denominations. It examines the lives of Palestinians living in and around occupied northern West Bank cities. Snacks will be provided. Free will offering will be taken for the Bright Stars of Bethlehem.
Heartland Conference Fall Gathering – will be held at Trinity Lutheran Church of Milaca, on Thursday, October 10 with registration starting at 8:30 am. Cost is $8, general offering will go to the Synod and Camp Onomia. Please make checks payable to Women of the ELCA. Trinity Lutheran’s address is 735 Second Street, Milaca.
