serveCAMP August 6-10 – Partnered with Camp Onomia, again this year, Lord of Life will be hosting a week long at home mission trip/camp experience for our youth. Through amazing games and Bible study put on by Camp Onomia and service work set up in our community this will be an amazing week. We look forward to sharing our story with you next month! serveCAMP is for students who will be entering grades 5-8 in the upcoming school year. Register Before July 25 to Receive a T-shirt – Send your kids on an impacting island adventure–with Shipwrecked VBS! Evening VBS will be August 12-15 from 6 pm to 8 pm for 3 years to 5th grade. Cost is $15 per child with a family max of $25. Get ready for an adventure to an uncharted island where kids are Rescued by Jesus! At Shipwrecked VBS, one memorable Bible Point is reinforced throughout each station. Volunteers Needed – Evening VBS is August 12-15 from 6 pm to 8 pm and we are in need of group leaders, 7th grade to adults, to help lead VBS kids to each activity. If you can help out email the church office at colleen.bush@lolbaxter.org.
Donations for Evening VBS – If you would like to help by donating an item for Evening VBS, please take a life preserver off the bulletin board near the office. Bring the item to the office by the date listed. Some items we would like to borrow, please put your name on them so we can return them.
God’s Work Our Hands – Mark your Connection Cards or sign-up in the Narthex if you would like to be a part of God’s Work. Our Hands on Sunday, September 9 at 10 am. We will be going to Camp Confidence, a women’s shelter and packing meals for Kids Against Hunger.
New Member Orientation 101 – If you are looking for a church home, Lord of Life offers a New Member Orientation 101 class. These classes are for those interested in membership at Lord of Life and those seeking more information on Lord of Life’s mission and ministries. New Member Orientation 101 is a one night event and attendance is required by all who wish to become members of Lord of Life Lutheran Church. The July 25 New Member Class has been cancelled and moved to Tuesday, August 21, from 6:30 pm – 8:00 pm, in Pastor Steve’s Office. Pick-up a Copy of the Family Weekly – The Family Weekly lets you know the Calendar of events for the week, Birthdays, Anniversaries and who is in need of prayer. Pick-up a copy in the Narthex by the front doors.
SAIL. (Staying Active and Independent for Life) – Join us for the SAIL Program on Mondays and Wednesdays from 9 am -10 am in the Commons. This is a strength, balance and fitness evidence based program for adults 65 and older. It is similar to the Bone Builders, but has some additions.
Join the Missions and Social Concerns Team – We have a fund entitled, “Beyond our Doors” that receives regular financial support. WE NEED TO GIVE THAT MONEY AWAY, and in order to do that we need a dedicated group of people who are willing to do some research regarding local and global charities; make wise decisions, and then report those decisions back to the church council. Sound and Light Techs Needed – Would you like to help out in the sound booth on Sundays and Wednesdays. Running sound and power point is easy to learn and we will train you. If interested please email colleen@lolbaxter.org.
Operation Sandwich Donations and Volunteering – Operation Sandwich is in need of donations of: granola bars, goldfish crackers, fruit snacks, peanut butter, jelly, fruit cups, squeeze applesauce and trail mix. Cash donations or gift cards can also be given to buy fresh produce. Donations can be dropped off at Bethlehem Lutheran Church, 418 8th Ave NE, Brainerd.
