serveCAMP August 6-10 – Partnered with Camp Onomia again this year, Lord of Life will be hosting a week-long at-home mission trip/camp experience for our youth. Through amazing games and Bible study put on by Camp Onomia and service work set up in our community, this will be an amazing week. We look forward to sharing our story with you next month! serveCAMP is for students who will be entering grades 5-8 in the upcoming school year. Cost is $125 – this covers camp activities, servant opportunities, transportation, 4 breakfasts, 5 lunches and a week they will never forget. http://tinyurl.com/serveCAMP2018.
Evening Vacation Bible School is Two Weeks Away – There is still room to send your kids on an impacting island adventure. Evening VBS will be August 12-15 from 6 pm to 8 pm. For 3 years to 5th grade. Cost is $15 per child with a family max of $25. At Shipwrecked VBS, one memorable Bible Point is reinforced throughout each station. School Kit Donations for serveCamp- We are collecting school supplies for the school backpacks we put together at serveCamp. If you would like to help, please bring in the following listed school supplies by August 5.
•70-sheet notebooks of wide- or college-ruled paper approximately 8” X 10½”; no loose-leaf paper
•30-centimeter ruler, or a ruler with centimeters on one side and inches on the other
•pencil sharpeners
•blunt scissors (safety scissors with embedded steel blades work well)
•unsharpened #2 pencils with erasers
•black or blue ballpoint pens (no gel ink)
•One box of 16 or 24 crayons
•2½” erasers
Donations for Evening VBS – If you would like to help by donating an item for Evening VBS, please take a life preserver off the bulletin board near the office. Bring the item to the office by the date listed. Some items we would like to borrow, please put your name on them so we can return them.
New Member Orientation 101 – If you are looking for a church home, Lord of Life offers a New Member Orientation 101 class. These classes are for those interested in membership at Lord of Life and those seeking more information on Lord of Life’s mission and ministries. Member Orientation 101 class is a one-night event, and attendance is required by all who wish to become members of Lord of Life Lutheran Church. God’s Work Our Hands – Mark your Connection Cards or sign-up in the Narthex if you would like to be a part of God’s Work. Our Hands on Sunday, September 9 at 10 am. We will be going to Camp Confidence, a women’s shelter and packing meals for Kids Against Hunger.
SAIL. (Staying Active and Independent for Life) – Join us for the SAIL Program on Mondays and Wednesdays from 9 am -10 am in the Commons. This is a strength, balance and fitness evidence based program for adults 65 and older. It is similar to the Bone Builders, but has some additions. There will be no class on Monday, July 30.
