Creation Care Tips – For weekend BBQs, follow these tips: 1) Ditch the disposables – bring your own water bottle and your own set of silverware: 2) If you are hosting, use your regular dishes, and ask a friend to bring theirs if you need more. Make sure to set out bins for recycling and compost right next to the trash; 3) Gas grills are better than charcoal, but if you use charcoal, opt for briquettes made from invasive species or from sustainably managed forests. Lighter fluid contains harmful chemicals, so use chimney charcoal starter instead; 4) Sunscreens and bug sprays may contain harmful chemicals, so check the Environmental Working Group for their great guides to the best sunscreens and bug sprays (ewg.org).
