Children’s Ministry is looking for Kids’ Time teachers – There will be a Kids’ Time Volunteer Meeting/Orientation on Sunday, August 18 at 5:30pm, for those wanting more information and to get plugged into Children’s Ministry. Grief Support Group – will meet on Monday, August 19, at Lord of Life in the Fireside Room from 6:30 pm – 8:00 pm.
Wednesday Night Cooks – Get a group together or your family to help once a month on Wednesday nights to cook a meal for our Wednesday night suppers. You will need to shop for the food and prep the food once a month. There will be Confirmation kids to help with serving and cleaning up. Caregivers Support Group – Lord of Life will be starting a Caregiver Support Group in September, where you can talk with other caregivers experiencing the same joys and challenges you may be facing. You will be able to share information, insight, advice and encouragement. Please mark your Connection Cards if you are interested in attending. Dates and times coming soon.
Photographers – This volunteer job is easy. Help us take pictures for our directory. After worship and during fellowship time, take pictures of the congregation in front of the butterflies and then send them to the church office. Mark your Connection Cards if you are interested and we will give you more information.
Block Party at Lord of Life – Sunday, September 8, from 4 pm to 6 pm for our Rally Day Block Party. Join us for food, a pie contest, games and crafts.

The Ultimate Date Night – Saturday, September 28 from 7 pm to 9:30 pm at Lord of Life. Jay and Laura Laffoon, marriage ‘educatainers’ and hosts of the comedy-infused Ultimate Date Night event, where they help couples learn how to create and regularly celebrate a thriving marriage while exploring the realities that everyday life brings to the relationship. Social Concerns Team – Helps decide where “Beyond our doors funds” should go in our Community or beyond. Gifts Encouraged for the Seminarian Scholarship Fund – Donations will be used to support those from this congregation who go on to attend seminary with the intention of serving as a rostered minister in the church.
Shoe Fundraiser for Brainerd A cappella Choir – A cappella choir is collecting gently used/new shoes until September 15. They are collecting any size/season and will get paid 40 cents per pound. All proceeds will go towards helping students in A cappella Choir at Brainerd High School go on a trip to Puerto Rico in February, where they will sing and tour. LOL has donated 54 pairs of shoes so far. Shoes are sent to developing countries to be used there. If you have new or gently used shoes that you would like to donate, there is a donation box in the Narthex.
